Abstract

IR Study of North Ecliptic Pole: From AKARI to JWST

Myungshin Im (Seoul National University)

North ecliptic pole (NEP) is a region where AKARI has performed an intensive extragalactic survey. One of the JWST GTO programs is planning to do a time-series observation near the NEP area. In this talk, we will summarize our previous results on the AKARI NEP study focusing on topics such as the early optical/NIR imaging surveys of this area and the studies of MIR emission in early-type galaxies, and radio galaxies. We will also present our ongoing JCMT SCUBA-2 imaging survey of the NEP area that will be observed by JWST, and its promise for future understanding of galaxy evolution.
